I spent the weekend in western CT, participating in the plant sale at Hollister House Garden. Garden structures, walls, walkways, rills and other water features are the backdrop (or focal points) for exuberant plantings in the English Garden Style. It’s formal and casual at once. It’s the garden so many of us wish we had.
Thank you George Schoellkopf for creating this masterpiece and sharing it with so many.

I wish I could have been there — thanks for sharing your pictures!
Next time….
Lovely, I’m feeling relaxed already…
I had the pleasure of visiting Hollister House this past Sunday. The gardens are indeed a pleasure to wander through. I love the effect of the low light has on your photos. I was there late morning to mid-day and the light was less flattering to the wonderful blooms.
Midday sun is tough….these were cell phone shots at about 5 pm and there is a decidedly blue cast to the light.
Exquisite.
Great photography! Have you thought of publishing a book ? I would buy one.
thank you! actually I’m mulling over book ideas right now. In the meantime, I’ll keep practicing my picture taking!
